Course Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2012. The department offers four years full time Bachelor of Engineering course in Civil Engineering with an intake of 60. The program is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The course content and examination activities are governed by VTU. The department is recognized as a Research Centre from VTU. The department has qualified faculty, well equipped laboratories very good computational facilities with application software like STAAD-Pro, ETABS, ANSYS, Auto-CAD to cater the needs of academic and research activities. The department also undertakes consultancy works in the areas of Structural, Geo-technical and Environmental Engineering. The internships in industries, collaborative project works and industry visits are the part of their curriculum. Apart from the regular curricular activities students are involved in extra-curricular activities, sports, computer courses etc.

I extend warm greetings from the Department of Civil Engineering. The civil engineering started with the inception of civilization and has undergone tremendous change in its activities with technological advancement. It is one of the challenging professions and our department is committed to prepare the students for the same.

We offer undergraduate program in civil engineering and have research center recognized from VTU. We have dedicated faculty and necessary infrastructure to provide the state-of-the-art technology and prepare morally and social responsible citizens to build our nation.

The civil engineering students have great opportunities in Government departments, private and public sector undertakings to take up various infrastructural projects. The department has strong linkages with industries in terms of industrial internships, projects, consultancy works, visits etc. The students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for necessary soft skill and personality development.
